Electrical Project Manager - Data Centre

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to take responsibility for the management and delivery of the electrical scope across the project.

This is a senior position working closely with the client, PMC team, designers, main contractors, specialist subcontractors, vendors and commissioning teams to ensure the electrical systems are delivered safely, on programme, to specification and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of the electrical package from design coordination and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and final handover.

You will provide strong technical and project leadership, managing contractors and stakeholders while ensuring the electrical works remain aligned with the overall project programme and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the electrical package on a major data centre project.
• Manage electrical contractors, specialist subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of electrical works.
• Review electrical designs, specifications, drawings and technical submissions.
• Manage design coordination and interfaces between electrical, mechanical, CSA, controls and commissioning disciplines.
• Monitor construction progress against the master project programme.
• Ensure electrical works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and project requirements.
• Manage technical queries, RFIs, design changes and project issues.
• Review contractor programmes, method statements, ITPs, testing procedures and commissioning documentation.
• Monitor quality and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate electrical installation, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Work closely with the commissioning team to ensure systems are ready for functional and integrated systems testing.
• Identify project risks, constraints and potential programme impacts.
• Drive resolution of technical and construction issues.
• Lead project meetings with contractors, consultants, vendors and client representatives.
• Provide progress, risk and performance reporting to senior project leadership.
• Ensure all project documentation and handover requirements are completed.
• Support the safe and successful delivery of the facility through to operational readiness.

• BMS / EPMS interfaces
• Electrical monitoring and controls
• Data centre critical power infrastructure

About You

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Electrical Construction Manager with a strong background in large-scale electrical infrastructure and mission-critical projects.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience working on hyperscale, colocation or other mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical systems.
• Proven experience managing electrical contractors and specialist subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Experience managing complex interfaces between electrical and other building services disciplines.
• Strong programme, planning and project-management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication abilities.
• Experience working in a PMC, client-side or consultancy environment would be highly advantageous.
• Experience managing large electrical packages from design through to operational handover.
• Ability to operate effectively within a large, fast-paced international project environment.
• A strong focus on safety, quality, programme and delivery.
