Nicoll Curtin is seeking a Network Engineer who enjoys working across networking, infrastructure, security, and operations. This role offers broad technical exposure, hands-on responsibility, and growth within a highly collaborative engineering team.

You will support multiple locations, troubleshoot routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls, investigate incidents, help with Linux/Windows systems and virtualization, and maintain clear documentation while contributing to 24/7 service

Responsibilities

• Support and operate network and infrastructure environments across multiple locations
• Manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and connectivity services
• Investigate network, infrastructure, and security incidents in business‑critical environments
• Support Linux and Windows‑based systems as well as virtualization platforms
• Monitor systems, identify risks, and help maintain a secure and stable environment
• Work closely with experienced engineers on operational improvements and technical projects
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and contribute to maintaining 24/7 service availability

Requirements

• Experience in networking, infrastructure, or IT operations
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network fundamentals
• Exposure to firewalls, VPNs, network security, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to take ownership
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, or virtualization technologies
• Interest in learning across networking, infrastructure, and security domains

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, or similar technologies
• Knowledge of BGP, Wireshark, network monitoring, or packet analysis
• Experience in telecom, ISP, MSP, or enterprise environments
• German language skills are considered a strong advantage
