Job summary

Compremium AG in Bern, Switzerland seeks a motivated Medical ML/AI Engineer to develop and deploy AI-driven components for medical products. The role spans data prep, model development, validation, optimization, on-device deployment and ongoing improvement in a regulated environment.

The candidate will work across data quality, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust, explainable AI aligned with ISO 13485/IEC 62304 and FDA guidance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in ML/AI or related field.
• 2+ years of ML/AI experience in regulated medical environment.
• Strong Python and ML framework experience (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• C/C++ knowledge for integration or inference pipelines.
• Experience with multimodal medical data, including imaging (ultrasound).

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, training, and validating ML/AI models for medical products.
• Collaborating with data teams to ensure data quality and regulatory compliance.
• Driving system-level AI architecture and model feasibility, performance, scalability.
• Optimizing models for on-device/embedded deployment (compression, quantization).
• Testing, evaluation, robustness analysis, and validation on clinical datasets.
• Documenting architectural, validation and regulatory activities per ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA guidance.
• Collaborating with software, clinical, and regulatory teams to align AI with product needs.
