Zusammenfassung

Voliro AG in Zurich seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to be the hands-on mechanical force in the Labs team, turning ideas into testable hardware. You will build prototypes, test rigs, and proof-of-concept mechanisms with speed and a hands-on mindset.

Reporting to our VP of Engineering, you will collaborate with senior mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as product and customer success teams, to ensure work aligns with real customer needs and product goals.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing or completed degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
• Hands-on prototyping experience (3D printing, machining, workshop fabrication).
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Aufgaben

• Own the mechanical side of Labs initiatives: build proof-of-concept mechanisms, test rigs, and functional prototypes.
• Design parts and assemblies in CAD and iterate quickly using 3D printing, machining, and other rapid prototyping methods.
• Plan and run experiments on new concepts and components, and join system integration and flight tests.
• Collaborate with the hardware team for guidance and design reviews, preparing concepts for productization.
• Coordinate with product and customer success teams to ensure experiments address real customer needs.
• Adapt in a startup environment with varied tasks and rapid improvements.
