Voliro is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer in Zurich to build and deploy end-to-end features across frontend, backend APIs and cloud infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cloud and drone platform teams, write clean code, implement automated tests, review code, and explore AI-powered capabilities in Voliro Cloud.

Senior Cloud Engineer

Your role

Are you passionate about building products end-to-end, from the database to the browser? Do you like ownership over your area of expertise? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? We are seeking a talented and dedicated full-stack engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Your work

• Develop features across the entire stack: frontend, backend APIs, and cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate closely with the cloud and drone platform development teams as well as our product team
• Write clean, well-structured, and reusable code
• Ensure quality through automated testing and thoughtful code reviews
• Evaluate new tools and technologies pragmatically, and know when (not) to adopt them
• Build AI-powered features into Voliro Cloud, from LLM-based data analysis to assisted operations planning for drone inspections

Your profile

You bring the following skill set to the table:

• Proven track record as a Full Stack Developer
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and React. We use Next.js with Shadcn and Tailwind for styling
• Solid backend experience. We use Go for our backend services, with REST/OpenAPI interfaces, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes on Google Cloud
• Visual design sensibilities
• Ability to establish reusable patterns & components for foundational functionality such as authentication, instrumentation, state management, deployment, etc.
• Sharp problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork
• Self-driven, hands-on mindset
• Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a startup environment
• Curiosity and practical experience with AI tools (LLM APIs, MCP servers, AI-assisted development)

Extra points awarded for

• Experience with C++ or other statically typed languages
• API design fundamentals
• Mobile development experience (ideally with Flutter, but any framework counts)
• CI/CD know-how
• Startup experience
