Our client is an international automotive group experiencing strong growth across global markets.
To support its continued expansion in Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager. This is a strategic position with responsibility for ensuring efficient, reliable, and cost-effective logistics operations while supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans in the Swiss market.
The role reports directly to the Logistics Director Switzerland and works closely with internal departments, international headquarters, external logistics operators, dealerships, and other business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate end-to-end vehicle logistics operations, from import and inbound transportation through storage, vehicle preparation, and final delivery to the dealer network.
- Coordinate closely with external logistics operators and service providers to ensure efficient vehicle transportation, storage, preparation, and delivery.
- Manage relationships with logistics partners, monitoring service quality, lead times, costs, and agreed service levels.
- Coordinate vehicle imports into Switzerland and ensure the smooth handling of all related logistics and administrative processes.
- Ensure compliance with Swiss customs regulations, vehicle import requirements, and all relevant documentation and procedures.
- Monitor vehicle flows and inventory levels to ensure optimal vehicle availability while balancing operational efficiency, delivery times, and logistics costs.
- Coordinate with international headquarters and relevant internal stakeholders to ensure accurate planning and timely vehicle allocation and delivery.
- Monitor logistics performance and relevant KPIs, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Support logistics planning and forecasting in close collaboration with Sales, Finance, Aftersales, and other relevant functions.
- Develop and optimize logistics processes and structures to support increasing vehicle volumes and the company’s continued growth in Switzerland.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, digitalization, and cost optimization across logistics operations.
- Support the implementation and development of logistics systems, tools, and operational processes.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between headquarters, logistics providers, customs partners, compounds, and the Swiss dealer network.
Candidate Profile
- Several years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations, ideally within the automotive industry.
- Previous experience with an automotive manufacturer, importer, distributor, or comparable organization would be a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of vehicle logistics, including transportation, storage, vehicle preparation, inventory management, and distribution to dealerships.
- Good knowledge of Swiss vehicle import procedures, customs regulations, and related documentation and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in coordinating and managing external logistics operators and service providers.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Commercial mindset with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, lead times, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to identify operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different functions, countries, and cultures.
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing international organization undergoing continuous development and change.
- Fluency in German, French and English is required.
