Job summary

Swissquote in Gland, Switzerland, invites a Legal Trainee to join the Legal Department for a 10-month period. You will work closely with experienced professionals on banking and financial law, contract drafting, dispute resolution and regulatory matters relevant to the Bank’s activities.

Your role includes research, drafting, and review of internal policies, as well as governance documents and innovative banking projects.

Qualifications

• University law degree (Bachelor and Master of Law in Swiss law)
• Excellent command of English and French, working knowledge of German
• Strong writing skills and analytical abilities
• Self-motivated, proactive and eager to learn
• Interest in banking, financial markets, fintech and emerging technologies

Responsibilities

• Support disputes, complaints and litigation matters, including legal research and document review.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts and legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on banking law, financial regulations, data protection and corporate law.
• Support regulatory monitoring and analysis of legal developments affecting the Bank.
• Assist with drafting and reviewing internal policies and governance documents.
• Provide general support to the Legal Department in day-to-day activities.

Job Description

As a Legal Trainee, you will join the Legal Department for a period of 10 months* and work closely with experienced legal professionals on a broad range of matters impacting the Bank's activities. You will gain practical exposure to banking and financial law, contract drafting and negotiation, dispute resolution, regulatory matters and innovative banking projects.

Your team manager and colleagues will support you throughout your traineeship and provide guidance on your assignments.

Your tasks will include:

• Supporting the team in the management of disputes, complaints and litigation matters, including legal research, document review and preparation of submissions;
• Assisting in the drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of contracts and legal documents;
• Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on banking law, financial regulations, contract law, data protection, corporate law and other legal topics relevant to the Bank's activities;
• Supporting the legal review of new products, services, technologies and business initiatives;
• Assisting with regulatory monitoring and analysing legal and regulatory developments affecting the Bank;
• Supporting the drafting, implementation and review of internal policies, procedures and governance documents;
• Providing general support to the Legal Department in its day-to-day activities.

Qualifications

• University law degree (Bachelor and Master of Law in Swiss law);

Additional Information

*This position is planned as a 10-month contract. However, we remain open to candidates who are available for a contract duration of 6 to 10 months.
