MISSION

As Legal Counsel, you will manage EMS's commercial contracting activity, acting as the primary in-house point of contact for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements across the business. You will provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders and support EMS's operations as a regulated medical device manufacturer, ensuring every agreement reflects both sound legal risk management and business practicality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements governed primarily by Swiss law, including supply agreements, loan agreements, research and collaboration agreements, speaker/consulting/service agreements, NDAs, and related contractual documentation.
• Support internal stakeholders throughout the full contract lifecycle, from initial term sheet to signature and post-execution management.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal departments (Sales, Procurement, R&D, Quality, Finance) on contractual and general commercial legal matters.
• Handle Swiss law disputes and pre-litigation matters as they arise, coordinating with external counsel where needed.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the medical device industry and flag implications for the business.
• Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes.

PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS

• Law degree and bar admission in a European jurisdiction (EU/EEA or Switzerland).
• 3 to 5 years' post-qualification experience in an in-house legal role (company setting, not solely a law firm).
• Fluent English required; French and/or another European language a strong plus.
