Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Process Improvement Intern to join the General Laboratory team in Geneva. The internship offers hands-on exposure to improving two operational workflows and collaborating with colleagues to translate laboratory needs into practical digital solutions within a regulated environment.

You will work 5-6 months full-time (with flexibility to consider an 80% schedule), starting preferably January 2026, with a paid internship and eligibility through a university program.

Qualifications

• Current enrolment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Current enrolment in a Master’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• English and French at an intermediate level are required.
• Curiosity and willingness to understand how processes operate by observing activities and asking questions.

Responsibilities

• Map the current delayed batched testing process, documenting key steps, responsibilities, handoffs, decision points, and timing.
• Review the MSDS review workflow to understand requirements and identify bottlenecks, duplication, and unclear responsibilities.
• Gather staff feedback and analyze operational data to distinguish necessary waiting steps from avoidable delays.
• Develop proposed workflows and prioritize improvements based on benefit, feasibility, and quality requirements.
• Support a pilot of selected improvements, define measures to assess impact, and document next steps for process owners.

Education

Bachelor’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
