Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a KYC Analyst based in Switzerland.

Join an innovative digital finance environment focused on making cryptocurrency investing more accessible, transparent, and secure. As a KYC Analyst, you will play a vital role in protecting users and maintaining regulatory compliance across a growing digital asset platform. You will oversee customer onboarding, conduct due diligence reviews, and assess individual and corporate accounts to identify potential financial crime risks. Working with sensitive documentation and risk indicators, you will help ensure that customer records meet applicable compliance standards and internal policies. The role combines investigative research, analytical thinking, and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening, and ongoing improvements to compliance processes in a rapidly evolving industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about financial crime prevention and interested in the future of cryptocurrency and digital asset management.

Accountabilities
  • Customer onboarding and verification: Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) checks for individual and corporate customers, collecting and verifying identity documents, corporate records, and supporting documentation.
  • Source of funds and source of wealth assessments: Review evidence relating to customers' sources of funds and wealth, evaluate the consistency of submitted information, and identify discrepancies or potential risk indicators.
  • Customer due diligence: Perform risk assessments during onboarding and ensure that customer profiles meet internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Periodic account reviews: Review existing KYC and KYB records to confirm that documentation remains complete, accurate, and up to date, addressing missing information and inconsistencies as necessary.
  • Sanctions and watchlist screening: Screen customers against sanctions lists, politically exposed persons (PEP) databases, and other relevant watchlists, escalating potential matches for further investigation.
  • Enhanced due diligence: Investigate high-risk customers by reviewing additional documentation, conducting further checks, and documenting findings to support appropriate risk decisions.
  • IP address and consistency checks: Analyze IP address information and investigate discrepancies, unusual patterns, or other indicators that may require additional verification.
  • Research and risk investigation: Conduct thorough research into customer backgrounds, corporate structures, beneficial ownership, and other relevant information to identify potential compliance concerns.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work with internal teams and external parties to obtain supporting information, resolve verification issues, and ensure timely completion of due diligence procedures.
  • AML compliance and monitoring: Apply relevant anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) principles, including applicable FATF recommendations, when assessing customer risk.
  • Process improvement: Contribute to operational projects and initiatives that improve onboarding efficiency, documentation quality, risk assessment practices, and compliance workflows.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in KYC and compliance.
  • Practical experience onboarding individual customers, including reviewing identity documents and assessing source of funds and source of wealth documentation.
  • Ideally, hands-on experience with complex corporate KYB onboarding, including corporate structures, ownership arrangements, and ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) identification.
  • Knowledge of AML and CTF principles, including familiarity with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations and their application to customer due diligence.
  • Experience with AML monitoring, sanctions screening, watchlist checks, and the identification and handling of politically exposed persons (PEPs).
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to assess documentation critically, investigate discrepancies, recognize suspicious indicators, and make evidence-based risk assessments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring that customer records, verification results, and investigation findings are accurate and properly documented.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to obtain information and resolve complex cases.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive personal, financial, and corporate information.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to manage multiple reviews, prioritize cases, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • A genuine interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and the evolving digital asset industry.
  • Experience with transaction monitoring, including conventional financial transactions and on‑chain activity, is a valuable advantage.
  • An interest in working in an international, remote‑first environment where curiosity, openness, and collaboration are encouraged.
Benefits
