Job summary

SwissBorg is seeking an experienced Accountant to own Accounts Payable and contribute across the full accounting function within a multi-entity group. You will manage month-end close processes, intercompany activity, VAT and tax matters, and audit preparation.

Ideal candidates bring software experience (Xero, ApprovalMax, Excel) and a Big 4 background with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach. This role offers genuine remote work and a dynamic, international team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5 years accounting experience, Big 4 background preferred.
• Strong GL, closing, reconciliations, accruals and full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Own Accounts Payable: invoice review, coding, payments, reconciliations.
• Prepare and manage general ledger entries, accruals and prepayments.
• Lead month/quarter/year closes for group entities with external firms.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support VAT and tax compliance across jurisdictions.
• Prepare audit files and assist audits of group entities.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.

Are you an Accountant with a strong technical foundation, ideally shaped in a Big 4 audit or accounting outsourcing team, looking for broad, hands‑on responsibility in an international group?

SwissBorg is a crypto wealth management platform operating through a group of regulated entities across Switzerland, France, Estonia and other jurisdictions. Our accounting team is small, and every member makes a real difference. In this role, you will own Accounts Payable and contribute across the full scope of the accounting function: month‑end close, reconciliations, intercompany, VAT and tax, and audit preparation.

We would love to hear from you if you are a versatile all‑rounder who enjoys the variety that comes with a multi‑entity group. The ideal candidate can step into any part of the accounting cycle, from processing supplier invoices to preparing audit files.

You will:

• Own the Accounts Payable process: supplier invoice review and coding (ApprovalMax/Xero), payment preparation, supplier statement reconciliations and vendor master data
• Prepare and manage general ledger entries, accruals and prepayments
• Monthly, quarterly and annual closes for all group entities, in collaboration with external accounting firms
• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure balances are correct and supported
• Monthly intercompany reconciliations, recharges and settlements across group entities
• Supporting VAT and other tax compliance across jurisdictions (VAT returns, reverse charge, withholding taxes), working with our external tax advisors
• Prepare audit files and support the annual and interim audits of the group entities
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes, contributing your own ideas
• Manage both technical and routine accounting tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency

About you:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Around 5 years of accounting experience, ideally starting at a Big 4 firm in audit or accounting outsourcing
• A strong accounting background: confident with general ledger accounting, closing, reconciliations, accruals and the full accounting cycle
• Experience with multi‑entity groups, intercompany accounting and, ideally, consolidation
• Hands‑on Accounts Payable experience; experience coaching or reviewing the work of junior team members is a plus
• Working knowledge of VAT and corporate tax compliance; international or cross‑border VAT exposure is a plus
• Experience preparing for and working with external auditors
• Hands‑on experience with accounting software and strong Excel skills; familiarity with Xero and ApprovalMax is a plus
• Must have an interest in crypto and/or crypto accounting is a plus
• Fluent English (French is a bonus)
• A proactive, detail‑oriented and independent working style, comfortable in a remote, international team
