We are looking for a Junior Legal Assistant to join its Legal Department in Geneva.
Working under the supervision of the Head of Legal, the Junior Legal Officer will provide day-to-day support across a broad range of legal, governance and administrative matters.
The position requires strong organisational and drafting skills, autonomy and initiative, as well as a genuine willingness to learn and progressively develop within the role.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to the Head of Legal and assist with the organisation and follow-up of legal matters.
- Manage the agendas of the Head of Legal.
- Act as Secretary to the Executive Committee, including preparation of meeting documentation, drafting of minutes and follow-up of action points.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation for Executive Committee and Board meetings.
- Manage and follow up on legal files, including litigation, claims and employment-related legal matters.
- Support the management of relationships and contractual documentation with external service providers and counterparties, including suppliers, landlords, auditors and financial partners.
- Maintain authorised signatory lists and coordinate external due diligence requests.
- Manage the Bank’s banking forms and templates, including updates, translations and formatting.
- Coordinate internal directives, including periodic reviews, translations, distribution and archiving.
- Support the drafting and review of legal documents for internal and external use, including client agreements, contracts with service providers and financial product providers, and employment-related documentation.
- Coordinate with external lawyers in relation to litigation and legal proceedings in Switzerland and abroad.
- Manage Commercial Register filings and related corporate formalities.
- Conduct legal and regulatory monitoring, identify relevant developments and prepare summaries for the Head of Legal.
- Conduct legal research and basic legal analyses, including the appropriate use of AI tools.
- Draft minutes, memoranda and other legal or corporate documents.
- Organise and maintain the Legal Department’s files and archives.
- Coordinate the follow-up of audit points relevant to the Legal function.
Your Profile
- University degree in Law.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in private banking, a law firm or an audit firm.
- Good understanding of the Swiss legal and banking environment.
- Strong drafting, analytical and summarising skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage and follow up on several matters simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and work effectively under the supervision of the Head of Legal.
- Rigorous, reliable and attentive to detail.
- High level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality.
- Very good command of French and English, both written and spoken.
- German would be an advantage.
- Comfortable with digital tools, including AI-assisted legal research.
- Proactive, curious and motivated to learn and progressively take on broader responsibilities.
