Junior Accountant - Growth Path to Group Accountant (Zug)

Job summary

EMEA Recruitment is engaged to recruit on behalf of a leading international private equity group in Zug. The Junior Accountant will own daily accounting across multiple jurisdictions, handling AP, AR, bank bookings, intercompany transactions, VAT, and month-end close.

Reporting to the Group Controller, you’ll grow toward a Group Accountant role through entity ownership and cross-functional projects, with a hands-on, accurate, and collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of practical accounting experience within a fiduciary, accounting firm, audit firm, or group accounting team.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with an accounting or ERP system.
• Fluent in German and English at business level; Dutch language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, manage approval workflows and payment runs, and handle employee expense claims.
• Issue outgoing invoices, monitor receivables, match incoming payments, and follow up on overdue items.
• Book bank statements, reconcile bank and cash accounts, and support liquidity reporting.
• Manage intercompany recharges, loans, and balance reconciliations across group and investment entities.
• Ensure correct VAT treatment, assist with VAT returns and stamp duty declarations, and support monthly closes and financial statement preparations.
• Maintain master data, act as a finance system key user, and participate in process automation and continuous improvement projects.
