EMEA Recruitment is seeking an Accounting Services Associate to join its Zurich team. You will own a varied client portfolio, handling day-to-day accounting and tax support for international clients across the EMEA region.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in accounting, professional services experience, and strong German and English communication. Proactivity and attention to deadlines are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for an allocated portfolio of clients.
• Maintain accurate financial records including general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

• Prepare VAT and direct tax returns.
• Monitor statutory filing deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
• Coordinate deadline extensions where necessary.
• Respond to client queries on accounting and taxation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver client services.

The Opportunity

• We are currently recruiting an Accounting Services Associate to join an established and expanding team in Zurich.
• This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 2–3 years' experience to take ownership of a varied client portfolio within an international professional services environment.
• Working closely with the Accounting Manager and wider team, you will provide day-to-day accounting and tax support to a range of clients, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within the relevant statutory deadlines.
• The position offers exposure to international clients across the EMEA region, with opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and broaden your experience across accounting and taxation.

What You'll Be Doing

• As part of the Accounting Services team, your responsibilities will include:
• Managing day-to-day accounting activities for an allocated portfolio of clients.
• Maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
• Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Preparing VAT and direct tax returns.
• Monitoring statutory filing deadlines and ensuring submissions are completed on time.
• Coordinating deadline extensions where necessary.
• Responding to client queries relating to accounting and taxation.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of client services.

What We're Looking For

• We are keen to hear from candidates who are organised, proactive and comfortable managing their workload independently while contributing positively to a wider team.

You should ideally have:

• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Previous experience within a professional services or accountancy environment.
• Fluency in both German and English (minimum B2 level).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A responsible approach, with good attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial

• Exposure to international clients or cross-border accounting environments.
• Knowledge of Abacus accounting software.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Additional language skills.
• Further education or professional qualifications in accounting.
