Job summary

Staeger Personal is supporting a dynamic Commodity Trading Group in Zug with a Junior Accountant role. You will perform ledger entries, assist in IFRS-based financial statements, and support intercompany reconciliations within a small finance team.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of related experience, strong English skills, and proficiency with Excel. A Swiss or EU/EFTA Permit B is required; remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Independent, reliable and accurate way of working.
• Experience with accounting standards (IFRS and Swiss CO).
• Good knowledge of English and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily general ledger and sub-ledger entries in consultation with the Corporate Accountant.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements per IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations.
• Assist in reconciliation of IC balances and allocation of intra-group services.
• Support in analyzing financial statements and forecasts/budgets.
• Assist with special tasks and projects within the finance team.

Due to the strong growth ot the trading and shipping company in Zug / Switzerland HQ and to strenghten the Finance Team in Zug we are looking to fill a position as

(Junior) Accountant

Task and responsibilities

• Perform daily general ledger and sub-ledger entries in consultation/coordination with the Corporate Accountant
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the Group according to IFRS and the statutory financial statement according to Swiss Code of Obligations
• Assist in the regular reconciliation of IC balances including the allocation of intra-group services
• Support the Corporate Accountant in analysing the financial statements (monthly, quarterly and annually) and assist in the preparation of forecasts / budgets
• Assist with special tasks and various projects within the finance team

Your profile

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Independent, reliable and accurate way of working
• Organised, goal-oriented and flexible
• Completed commercial and administrative qualification
• First experiences with accounting standards (IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations)
• Experience in an international organization preferred
• Good knowledge of English
• Familiar with Microsoft office tools, especially Excel
• Swiss or EU/EFTA Permit B

Nice to have:

• Experience in the commodity trading sector
• Knowledge of Swiss VAT
