STAAR Surgical in Brügg, Switzerland, is looking for an International Payroll Administrator (100%). The role coordinates end-to-end payroll for multiple international entities with external providers, ensuring timely delivery and strict compliance.

You will support new country setups, equity payroll, and Swiss payroll backup while collaborating within an international, virtual team. A Bachelor in HR, 3+ years in international payroll, and strong IT skills (Excel, ABACUS) are required.

International Payroll Administrator 100%

Our company is further expanding by setting up a brand-new manufacturing site located in Nidau. In order to reinforce our HR department in Brügg, we are currently recruiting a professional for the position as International Payroll Administrator 100%.

Job Description

• Coordinate and oversee end-to-end payroll processes for multiple international entities in collaboration with external payroll providers
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery across countries, including data collection, validation, and approvals
• Review payroll outputs, reports, and reconciliations provided by vendors
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements in each country
• Manage payroll calendars, deadlines, and funding requirements
• Support new country setups, provider transitions, and payroll process improvements
• Handle employee payroll-related queries across regions
• Process and coordinate equity-related payroll activities (e.g., stock options, RSUs), ensuring accurate taxation and reporting in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external providers
• Act as backup for the Swiss payroll process, ensuring continuity in case of absence of the primary payroll owner
• Assure compliancy with legal and SOX requirements as well as Quality standards and best practice
• Facilitate internal and external audits by providing records and documentation to the Senior Manager Payroll and Benefits
• Works on specific payroll projects in collaboration with the Senior Manager Payroll and Benefits

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field
• French or German, fluent in English, any other language is a plus
• Minimum 3 years of experience in international payroll, preferably in a multi-country environment
• Experience working with foreign payroll or expats payroll preferable, and with external payroll providers
• Excellent IT skills, especially in Excel, Payroll system i.e. ABACUS, a plus
• Able to work in an international environment and in virtual teams, very well structured, organized, and stress resistant
