Job summary

CSCS, the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre, seeks a Storage Engineer (Systems Engineering) to join the Lugano team. You will implement and operate HPC storage services within a multi-tenant infrastructure, contributing to the design, maintenance, and documentation of scalable storage solutions for cutting-edge science.

The role emphasizes Linux administration, storage technologies, and automation, with collaboration across ETH Zurich partners and international climate/data projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Sound knowledge of Linux administration and storage concepts.
• Experience with storage systems and backup concepts (DMF, TSM, Veeam).
• Familiarity with object storage and S3 service usage/implementation.
• Automation and CI/CD tooling, e.g., GitLab CI, HashiCorp Vault; Kubernetes experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and operate HPC storage services in a multi-tenant infrastructure.
• Design, maintain, and document storage services for HPC environments.
• Contribute to development and enhancement of HPC system functionality and efficiency.
