Job summary

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) seeks a First Aid and Prehospital Emergency Care (FAPHEC) Delegate to develop and manage context-appropriate response systems in conflict zones. You will assess needs, design programmes and guide teams to ensure timely care across the continuum from scene to facility.

You will lead training, strengthen first responders, and coordinate with health authorities and Red Cross partners.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant health field with extensive prehospital emergency care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess FAPHEC needs and referral pathways.
• Design and manage context-appropriate FAPHEC programmes.
• Lead planning, coordination and resources.
• Strengthen capacity of first responders and healthcare staff through training and coaching.
• Develop and deliver FAPHEC training including trauma care and mass-casualty management.
• Support emergency preparedness and response, including SOPs and drills.
• Strengthen coordination between responders, transport and facilities.
• Build partnerships with authorities and Red Cross/Red Crescent partners.
• Integrate safety and risk management approaches into FAPHEC activities.
• Monitor quality, report results and follow-up.
• Manage and develop staff involved in FAPHEC activities.
