Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Humanitarian Access, Safety and Security Advisor to strengthen strategic, technical and operational support across emergencies, lead access, safety and security initiatives, and advise country leadership on risk management. Location flexibility allows national candidates or residency in the UK, Kenya or Geneva; fluency in English and French is required.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of NGO experience in humanitarian programs with safety and security in volatile environments.
• Strong experience in humanitarian access, negotiation, civil-military coordination, and security management.
• Proven ability to develop, facilitate and impart learning to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead humanitarian access and safety strategy across IRC programs and emergencies.
• Support country leadership in implementing access, safety and security plans and risk management.
• Contribute to learning and capacity strengthening across EmU, ASAP and partner organisations.
• Foster partnerships and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to advance access and security objectives.
