Job summary

Merck Group in Switzerland seeks a senior Clinical Operations leader to own end-to-end strategy and delivery of Phase I–IV studies, including registrational trials, in a hybrid-sourcing or in-house model. You will guide large global trial teams, influence stakeholders, and drive budgets, timelines, and quality across programs.

As a core member of the Clinical Operations Team, you will mentor colleagues, ensure SOP/GxP compliance, and partner with cross-functional groups to achieve project goals

Qualifications

• 8+ years in clinical research with at least 7 years in trial management and managerial responsibility.
• Expert in multiple Therapeutic Areas.
• Strong project management experience with market and competitor knowledge.
• Experience in budgeting and startup activities for trials.
• Proven leadership and influencing abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• PM certification desirable as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end clinical operational strategy and delivery of Phase I–IV trials, including registrational trials.
• Lead large global trial teams in a matrix organization.
• Develop and drive trial strategy with budgets, timelines and quality standards.
• Ensure SOPs, regulatory guidance (ICH-GCP) compliance and lead audits as required.
• Mentor team members and share best practices across disciplines.
• Provide independent reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
