Novartis Basel hosts an opportunity for Translational Medicine Experts to lead early clinical development. As a medical lead, you will guide phase 1 and 2 studies, collaborate with biology and chemistry teams, and interact with Health Authorities to shape development plans.

The role requires an MD with gastroenterology expertise, extensive IBD experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Baseline hybrid work options may apply, with a competitive total rewards package.

Qualifikationen

• Medical doctor with board certification in gastroenterology or relevant medical specialty.
• Several years of clinical experience treating IBD (UC and CD) patients.
• Ability to learn fast and work independently.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead global clinical trial teams through phase 1 and 2 development.
• Draft the early clinical development plan.
• Act as medical lead for early clinical studies.
• Represent the team in relevant decision boards.
• Serve a primary contact for internal and external key opinion leaders.
• Oversee publication and internal/external presentation of clinical study results.
• Work closely with biomarker experts in implementation.
• Collaborate with research scientists to identify, develop and implement strategy for preclinical support of program related objectives.
• Actively participate in Health Authority interactions.
