Job summary

K-Recruiting Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Specialist – Controlling and Reporting in Basel to lead advanced financial reporting under US GAAP, IFRS and Swiss GAAP FER. You will prepare statements, support audits, and drive monthly closes while coordinating with the Tax Manager and other teams.

The role requires a decade of experience in finance, a strong accounting background, and fluency in English. Exposure to SAP S/4HANA and Excel is highly valued in this global group based in Basel.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting; 10+ years in corporate accounting/finance
• Chartered Accountant preferred
• Excellent English communication, both oral and written
• Ability to collaborate with leaders across teams

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and advanced Excel

Responsibilities

• Ensure financial reporting aligns with US GAAP, IFRS, Swiss GAAP and Swiss GAAP FER
• Prepare financial statements for Swiss and IFRS reporting
• Assist with external audit documentation to meet deadlines
• Oversee Swiss GAAP FER audits
• Support monthly legal entity closings and tax-related topics
• Coordinate with Tax Manager on tax ledger adjustments
• Oversee Legal Entity integration and new business accounting
• Improve financial processes and reporting through projects
• Maintain internal control standards and document key controls

Job description

Senior Specialist – Controlling and Reporting (M/F/D)

Tasks

• Ensure financial reporting is in line with applicable reporting standards (US GAAP, IFRS, Swiss GAAP and Swiss GAAP FER)
• Preparation of financial statements for Swiss GAAP, Swiss GAAP FER and IFRS reporting.
• Support with preparation of documentation for external audits to ensure tight reporting deadlines are met.
• Primarily responsible for Swiss GAAP FER audits.
• Support with legal entity monthly closing.
• Oversee the winding down of the Latin American Inventory Hub.
• Work closely with the Tax Manager on all tax-related topics.
• Support the Entity Controllers to ensure that Swiss GAAP FER / Tax ledger adjustments are accurately posted each month.
• Responsible for Legal Entity Integration and New Business accounting.
• Project related work to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Ensure effective financial control environment by understanding, monitoring and executing local control procedures and that all key controls as defined in the company’s Global and Local Control Standards are properly executed and documented.
• Work closely and communicate effectively with other teams in Organon.

Qualification

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting and at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in an accounting and/or finance role in a corporate environment. Chartered Accountant is preferred
• Expert in accounting and financial reporting
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Proven ability to work closely with leaders of other teams in the company
