Job description

Rising Tide Group is a global philanthropic organization headquartered in Schaffhausen, Switzerland with the mission to empower people to live life on their own terms. Our organization comprises two foundations—the Rising Tide Foundation and the Rising Tide Foundation for Clinical Cancer Research —supported by Rising Tide GmbH. We foster a collaborative, multicultural work environment where diverse talent is encouraged to think creatively and approach challenges with innovative solutions.

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on intern to support our Executive and Team Assistance functions and help keep the day-to-day operations of an international philanthropic organization running smoothly. The internship is primarily administrative and coordination-focused. It offers practical exposure to foundation operations, executive support, board and meeting preparation, communications, and selected project activities in a philanthropic environment.

What we are looking for: Executive & Administrative Support Intern (60-80%)

for a philanthropic organization

We are seeking a reliable, organized intern who enjoys working in a structured, service-oriented role and wants practical experience in administration, office coordination, and foundation operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable working across different tasks, and eager to learn how a mission-driven organization operates behind the scenes. Your support will be required in:

  • Executive and team assistance: Support the Executive and Team Assistance functions with daily coordination, correspondence, scheduling, meeting preparation, and follow-up activities.
  • Administrative coordination: Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including document management, filing, database updates, contact lists, internal records, and general office organization.
  • Meeting and board preparation: Help prepare agendas, presentations, briefing materials, supporting documents, and logistics for internal, board, and committee meetings.
  • Operational support: Support ongoing internal processes, project tracking, coordination across teams, and the preparation of materials needed for smooth organizational workflows.
  • Communication and content support: Assist with drafting, proofreading, formatting, and updating selected written materials such as short news items, website content, presentations, internal updates, and correspondence.
  • Event and stakeholder logistics: Support the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, events, travel arrangements, guest visits, and related logistics.
  • Foundation and project exposure: Provide administrative and coordination support to selected philanthropic projects and gain insight into the processes underlying effective grant-making, foundation governance, and partner engagement.
  • Digital tools and process improvement: Help use digital and AI-supported tools to improve administrative efficiency, knowledge management, document preparation, and internal coordination.

What we offer:

  • 60-80% compensated 6–12-month internship: Gain practical experience in a dynamic philanthropic organization in an international and purpose-driven environment.
  • Broad operational exposure: Learn how a foundation is organized and how executive support, administration, board preparation, communications, and project coordination work together.
  • Meaningful learning environment: Gain insight into philanthropic initiatives, grant-making processes, and foundation governance while contributing primarily through administrative and coordination support.
  • Growth and mentorship: Work alongside experienced professionals and develop confidence, organizational skills, communication skills, and professional maturity.
  • Collaborative culture: Join a multicultural team that values reliability, initiative, mutual support, attention to detail, and constructive collaboration.
  • A background in business administration, office management, communications, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Strong interest in administrative work, coordination, organizational support, and the functioning of a philanthropic or mission-driven organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a structured, meticulous, and reliable approach to work. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft, proofread, and format professional materials.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications; interest in AI tools and digital applications is welcome.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and follow through with care and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, discreet, service-minded, and comfortable supporting colleagues across different teams and functions.
  • Professional conduct, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required. Professional working proficiency in German is an advantage.
  • Successful candidates must meet the legal requirements to live and work in Switzerland.
