European GL, Payroll & Treasury Lead

Job summary

Incyte is seeking a Senior Accountant for General Ledger, Payroll & Treasury to support European entities from Morges. You will ensure timely month-end close, financial reporting, payroll accounting and cash management in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Finance, Payroll & Treasury, you will collaborate with Accounting, Payroll and Treasury teams to strengthen controls, drive process improvements and support finance transformation across Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a multinational environment.
• Strong IFRS and/or US GAAP knowledge, month-end close, reconciliations.
• Treasury operations, cash management and multi-currency banking experience desirable.
• Experience in shared services environment preferred.
• Fluent in English; another European language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including payroll entries, accruals, prepayments, reclassifications and other accounting adjustments across European entities.
• Own assigned General Ledger accounts and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including payroll-related accounts.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close activities and analyse balance sheet and P&L movements, providing explanations for material variances.
• Work closely with the Payroll team to ensure accurate payroll accounting and resolve accounting and reconciliation matters.
• Process and reconcile banking transactions in SAP and perform monthly reconciliations of European bank accounts.
• Manage day-to-day treasury activities, including cash forecasting, intercompany settlements, funding requirements and liquidity management in collaboration with Corporate Treasury.
• Oversee banking administration, including bank account maintenance, signatory management and banking relationships, while supporting controls and fraud prevention.
• Act as a key Finance contact for banking and treasury initiatives, including bank integrations, payment process improvements and SAP/system enhancements.
• Support statutory audits, SOX testing and internal and external audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation across General Ledger, payroll accounting, treasury and banking processes.
• Support Finance transformation initiatives, system implementations and other ad hoc Finance projects.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and management reporting as required.
• Promote a culture of integrity, collaboration and accountability, ensuring compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and Company requirements
