Job summary

Herzum (now part of catworkx) is seeking an experienced Enterprise Platform Architect to lead an AI architecture initiative for a major Swiss client in the transport & infrastructure sector. You will develop a pragmatic, staged architecture vision and define AI capabilities, governance models and roadmaps for shared services.

The role requires 8+ years in IT architecture with AI/GenAI experience, strong knowledge of LLMs and security concepts, and business fluency in German and English.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT architecture with AI/GenAI experience in large organisations.
• Two references for overarching target architecture with roadmap (ideally AI or data platforms).
• Solid understanding of LLMs, RAG, agentic systems and related risks (prompt injection, data leakage, hallucinations).
• Experience with Security by Design, IAM (including non-human identities/agents), data classification and Zero Trust.
• Knowledge of EU AI Act, data protection and information security requirements.
• Experience with capability-based architecture and decisions between central, domain-specific and local models.
• Experience in building AI Governance (roles, processes, approvals, risk classification).
• Ability to link architecture with economic aspects (business case, FinOps, TCO).
• Business fluent German and good English.

Main Responsibilities

• Define scope, structure AI capabilities and prioritise the most important architecture questions
• Define architecture workstreams and the deployment of Platform Architects
• Develop architecture concepts, principles, target pictures and decision papers
• Translate the overarching architecture into organisational and technical requirements for platforms and shared services
• Define governance, responsibilities and operating model for shared services
• Support the creation of an implementable architecture roadmap
• Document and communicate the architecture to management and technical teams

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in IT architecture, with proven experience in AI / GenAI architectures in large organisations
• At least two references as responsible for an overarching target architecture with stages and roadmap (ideally AI or data platforms)
• Solid understanding of LLMs, RAG, agentic systems and related risks (prompt injection, data leakage, hallucinations)
• Experience with Security by Design, IAM (including non-human identities/agents), data classification and Zero Trust
• Knowledge of EU AI Act, data protection and information security requirements

Work model

40-60% on-site at the client (mainly Tuesdays and Wednesdays) / 40-60% home office.

Important

Remote work is only permitted within Switzerland.

We are looking for VAT-registered professionals (Partita IVA) available to collaborate, with a daily rate between € 450 and € 500.
