Zusammenfassung

Symlab AG in Zürich seeks an Embedded Software Development Engineer to design and develop advanced embedded Linux software for wireless and signal-processing systems in jamming and monitoring devices. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle from architecture to testing and deployment.

The role requires hands-on experience with C/C++, Linux, SoC interfaces, and API design, plus familiarity with web-based GUI technologies and RESTful services.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software development.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ (additional languages are a plus).
• Solid experience with Linux (kernel and/or user space).
• Experience working with SoC architectures and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs.
• Familiarity with network protocols and embedded communication interfaces.
• Experience with web technologies (e.g., REST APIs, HTML/CSS/JavaScript) for GUI development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English (mandatory); German is a strong advantage.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for Linux-based systems
• Develop and optimize applications for SoC platforms
• Define and implement clean, scalable, and well-documented APIs
• Collaborate on the development of web-based GUIs for system control and monitoring
• Integrate software with hardware components and ensure system-level functionality
• Perform debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of embedded systems
• Participate in code reviews and ensure software quality and maintainability
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, system engineering, and product management
