Job summary

Qualifications

About the role

We are looking for an EI&C / Automation Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing, integrating and maintaining software solutions used in manufacturing and automation environments.

The role combines software development, industrial automation, IT/OT integration and system support. You will work with systems such as DCS, MES, data historians and databases, ensuring reliable data exchange and smooth operation of manufacturing applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure and maintain software applications supporting manufacturing and automation processes
• Design and implement integrations between DCS, MES, historians, databases and other manufacturing systems
• Develop solutions using C#, SQL, PowerShell and VBA
• Support interfaces and data exchange between IT and OT environments
• Troubleshoot software and system issues and perform root cause analysis
• Test, commission, qualify and deploy software solutions
• Maintain and improve existing applications to increase reliability, performance and usability
• Prepare technical, functional and software design documentation in accordance with GMP/GxP and company standards
• Support software validation, change management and version control activities
• Ensure compliance with data integrity and cybersecurity requirements
• Work closely with Automation, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements – Must Have

• University degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field
• Strong IT background with knowledge of software development, databases, networking and system integration
• Professional experience with automation or manufacturing systems, such as DCS, MES or data historian platforms
• Good knowledge of C#, SQL, PowerShell and/or VBA
• Experience with software lifecycle management and application support
• Previous experience working in a GMP/GxP-regulated environment
• Experience creating technical and GxP-compliant documentation
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Fluent English and/or German

Nice to Have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences manufacturing
• Knowledge of DeltaV, Syncade, PI System or similar industrial platforms
• Experience with software validation, CSV/CSA methodologies and data integrity
• Understanding of OT infrastructure and cybersecurity
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
