Job summary

SGI in Visp, Switzerland is seeking an experienced EI&C DeltaV Engineer to support CAPEX projects within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

You will design and implement DeltaV automation solutions, configure control strategies, graphics, alarms and interfaces, and prepare GxP-compliant engineering and validation documentation.

Fluency in German is required; English is an asset. The role is 100% on-site in Visp with potential extension beyond 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Hands-on DeltaV engineering and configuration experience.
• Experience documenting GxP/compliance in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ and validation processes.
• Experience supporting CAPEX projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• German language skills required; English a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement DeltaV automation solutions for CAPEX projects.
• Configure control strategies, interfaces, graphics, alarms, and processes in DeltaV.
• Prepare GMP/GxP-compliant engineering and validation documents.
• Integrate DeltaV with equipment, PLCs, MES, and plant systems.
• Lead FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ, commissioning and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot automation and control system issues throughout projects.
• Ensure GMP, data integrity, change management, and validation compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Validation and Project teams.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced EI&C DeltaV Engineer to support CAPEX projects within a highly regulated pharmaceutical / life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Emerson DeltaV automation solutions for CAPEX projects.
• Configure control strategies, system interfaces, graphics, alarms, and process automation applications within DeltaV.
• Prepare and maintain GxP-compliant engineering and validation documentation.
• Integrate DeltaV with process equipment, PLCs, utilities, MES, and other plant systems.
• Execute and document FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot automation, communication, and control system issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, data integrity, change management, and validation requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Engineering, Operations, Quality, Validation, and Project teams.

Your Profile

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV engineering and configuration.
• Experience creating and maintaining GxP documentation within a regulated environment.
• Good understanding of commissioning, qualification, and validation processes.
• Previous experience supporting CAPEX projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• German language skills are required.
• English proficiency is an advantage.
