The role will play a critical part in the E2E Data Workstream, particularly during the preparation for the Design Phase and in the context of a large-scale system and data migration.
The primary focus will be on analyzing and assessing key data assets, identifying gaps between current data structures and target systems, and preparing actionable plans to ensure that data is simplified, cleansed, harmonized, governed, and aligned with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze the structure, quality, and governance of key data entities within the scope of system migration, including dimensions, values, granularity, and cardinality.
- Assess how current data structures align with vendors' standard data models and identify gaps for each E2E workstream.
- Develop gap analyses and recommend fit-to-standard strategies and action plans to address identified gaps.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional Data Design Workshops with Data Stewards and other business stakeholders.
- Develop strategies for data simplification, cleansing, harmonization, and standardization, addressing issues such as:
- incomplete or poor-quality data,
- taxonomy misalignment,
- missing or inconsistent granularity.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions and support decision-making on high-priority business questions and data requirements.
- Document key decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, and agreed actions.
- Draft required TO-BE data models and assess their alignment with vendors' standard data models.
- Define and coordinate action plans required to prepare data for the Design Phase and subsequent migration activities.
- Present findings, recommendations, and action plans to senior stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
- Work closely with technical teams to validate the technical feasibility of proposed data strategies and migration approaches.
- Ensure alignment between master data governance and the organization's MDM governance framework.
- For key master data entities, document the complete data lifecycle, ownership model, governance requirements, and fit-to-standard decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities, follow-ups, and dependencies across business and technical teams.
- Act as a translator between business, data, and technology teams, ensuring common understanding and alignment throughout the transformation.
