Job summary

Swisscom is seeking a DevOps-focused engineer to join a close-knit agile team in Bern Worblaufen. You will help modernise and secure an inventory platform, moving toward cloud-native architectures and AWS while improving CI/CD, monitoring and automation.

Qualifications

• A degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience developing Java applications, Linux, and Bash scripting.
• Experience evolving legacy systems toward a microservices architecture with cloud-native services and PostgreSQL.
• Strong CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, and monitoring in a DevOps environment.
• Automation with Ansible and Infrastructure as Code, plus networking fundamentals.
• Willingness to build skills beyond main specialization.
• Ownership of complex problems and production reliability.
• Clear communication in English and German in an agile team.

Responsibilities

• Automate CI/CD pipelines, testing, infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching and dependency management.
• Develop and operate cloud-native apps using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
• Plan and implement transition from on-premises to AWS, building cloud capabilities.
• Decouple and modernise inventory system components for scalability and deployment flexibility.
• Improve monitoring, incident handling and operational automation with AI capabilities.
