Job summary

Ferrum Process Systems AG is seeking an engineer to lead technical projects focused on design optimization, cost reduction, and sustainable improvements. You will analyze components and assemblies across the value chain, and help shape make-or-buy decisions based on technical and economic criteria.

The role requires independent management of engineered parts and collaboration with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field (e.g., BSc in Mechanical Engineering).
• Apprenticeship in design engineering (Konstrukteur/in EFZ) or polymechanics is a strong asset.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage project controlling, and facilitate project meetings.
• Proactive, highly communicative with good understanding of processes and responsibility.
• Proficient in CAD systems (SolidWorks) with CAM/FEM/PDM exposure.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technical projects with focus on design optimization, cost reduction, and sustainable improvements.
• Analyse and improve components, assemblies, and solutions across the value chain.
• Support and shape make-or-buy decisions based on technical and economic criteria.
• Independently manage engineering of manufactured parts and design solutions across departments.
• Implement Value Engineering to reduce costs and complexity without compromising quality.
• Coordinate development activities with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and other interfaces.
