Zusammenfassung

ONNEC is seeking an IMACD Data Centre Engineer to join a hands-on team, delivering rack-and-stack, patching, testing and hardware swaps at client sites. The role is on-site in live data centres and involves shift work across regions, with on-call duties as required.

Ideal candidates will have Tier 1 data-centre experience, strong server/network hardware skills, fibre/copper cabling expertise, and familiarity with Service Now or similar tools for asset management.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience on-site in a live data-centre environment.
• Familiar with DC access controls, change management and data-centre standards.
• Understanding of fibre and copper cabling, terminations and testing.
• Experience using Service Now or similar process/tools for asset management.
• Solid track record in server and network hardware maintenance and handover to IT/engineering teams.

Aufgaben

• Monitor the client’s ticket system and ensure tickets are assigned and completed within SLA.
• Audit and document existing cabling installations and patching plans.
• Audit and document desktop configuration, including patching and power for user locations.
• Carry out patching/jumpering for voice and data cabling.
• Build, rack and stack network and server hardware in data centre environments.
• Perform hardware break-fix activities (power supplies, modules, fans).
• Carry out data wiping activities using software tools.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update drawings/schedules.
