Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of finance leadership experience in a project-driven industry.
• Experience with renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or similar sectors.
• Strong track record in project finance, debt financing and capital raising.

• Define and lead the financial strategy aligning planning, capital allocation and risk management with growth objectives.
• Oversee finance, controlling, treasury, tax and management reporting.

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function and play a key role in shaping the next stage of growth of a renewable energy company.

As a member of the leadership team, the CFO will work closely with the CEO, management team and Board to drive financial strategy, project financing, profitability and investment decisions, while leading and developing the finance team and building the processes and financial infrastructure required to scale the business.

The role combines strategic leadership with a strong hands-on approach in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.

Tasks

• Define and lead the financial strategy, aligning financial planning, capital allocation and risk management with the company’s growth and investment objectives.
• Take full responsibility for finance, controlling, treasury, tax and management reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning, including analysis of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, costs, overheads and liquidity.
• Oversee monthly closing and controlling processes, including the reconciliation of commercial and statutory financial results across entities.
• Evaluate new renewable energy projects and investment opportunities in collaboration with commercial, sales and analyst teams, developing financial models, business cases and scenario analyses.
• Assess project economics, including CAPEX, OPEX and margins, and provide actionable financial recommendations to management.
• Lead project finance and debt financing initiatives, including financing documentation, negotiations and coordination with banks, lenders and internal stakeholders.
• Advise the CEO and management team on financing strategy, investment decisions, financial risk, M&A, joint ventures, partnerships and strategic investments.
• Manage pricing, profitability, intercompany service agreements and transfer-pricing arrangements, in coordination with tax and legal advisers.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, finance systems and processes while supporting the development of the finance function as the company grows.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and management team across commercial, operational, financing and investment decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant finance experience, including senior responsibility as Finance Director, Head of Finance or similar.
• Experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, EPC, utilities, cleantech or another project-driven industry.
• Strong experience in project finance, debt financing, capital raising and financial modelling.
• Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, controlling, reporting and project profitability.
• Experience working with banks, investors, Boards and auditors.
• Native German and fluent English.
