Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Visp, Switzerland, is seeking an Associate Director, Manufacturing Downstream Processing (DSP) to lead a multidisciplinary DSP team and ensure safe, compliant, and on-time production of biologics. The role is site-based and focuses on delivering high-quality therapies worldwide.

You will guide process engineers and specialists, drive performance improvements, and collaborate with MSAT, QA and Upstream teams while shaping the DSP organization and its strategic investments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of downstream processing and biologics manufacturing.
• Ability to build and coach high-performing technical teams.
• Experience collaborating across functions and with customers/regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary DSP team ensuring safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Own operational performance, readiness, execution and on-time delivery in DSP.
• Resolve complex manufacturing challenges with MSAT, QA and Upstream teams.
• Provide leadership for risk assessments, inspections, and change management.
• Represent DSP during customer interactions, audits and regulatory inspections.
• Contribute to capital projects including facility design, startup and commissioning.
• As part of Production Leadership Team drive operational excellence and development.
