Job summary

Lonza Basel is seeking an Associate Director, Plant Utilities to provide global technical leadership for plant utility infrastructure, including thermal systems, cooling, water and energy recovery. You will own global standards and drive lifecycle‑cost improvements across sites, partnering with Clean Utilities, HVAC, Electrical and Asset Management.

The role is based in Basel and requires senior technical leadership, cross-site collaboration and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in Plant utilities design, commissioning and operational support in complex manufacturing environments.
• Apply relevant engineering standards, codes and regulatory requirements for plant utility infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own global Plant Utilities standards, specifications and reference designs.
• Provide global technical leadership for Plant Utilities including thermal systems, cooling, water systems and energy recovery.
• Define and maintain clear technical system boundaries and interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
• Lead Plant Utilities technical assurance for CAPEX projects and infrastructure investments.
• Define global engineering requirements for commissioning, performance testing and technical handover of Plant Utilities.
