Job summary

Aviation JobSearch Europa is seeking Aircraft Design Engineers in Zürich to support an innovative aircraft manufacturer. The role focuses on designing mechanical components and aircraft systems, producing 3D CAD models and drawings, and collaborating with certification teams on development projects.

The position offers an initial 5-month contract with potential extension, and a possibility to work 100% remotely for suitable candidates who have access to required equipment.

Qualifications

We currently looking for Aircraft Design Engineers to support an innovative aircraft manufacturer specialising in the development and production of light aircraft.

This is an exciting opportunity for engineering professionals to contribute to aircraft design and development projects within a specialised aerospace environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and aircraft systems in accordance with technical requirements.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Review and optimise existing aircraft designs to improve functionality and performance.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and product data within PDM systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and certification specialists to support aircraft development projects.
• Contribute to the improvement of engineering procedures and design processes.

Requirements

• Technical qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience in mechanical design and 3D CAD modelling, ideally using Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Good understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Good command of German and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Previous experience in the aviation industry would be an advantage.
• Experience in the aviation industry; a PPL license is a plus.
