Job summary

AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG in Basel is seeking an experienced VIP Engineering professional to actively prepare engineering activities for new projects and translate customer specifications into engineering inputs. You will conduct predictive analyses on weight, balance, and electrical loading and support Sales and Interior Design in the early project phases.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering or relevant field.
• Profound knowledge of physics, technical mechanics, aerospace technology & materials, and certification requirements in VIP Aviation.
• More than 5 years of experience in VIP Aviation / Aerospace Engineering.
• Proactive with excellent written and verbal English; French and/or German is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently.
• Accurate and strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ideally aerospace engineering background; automotive/transportation acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Active preparation of Engineering activities for new projects.
• Translate Customer specifications / PM technical specification / Interior Design packages to Engineering input (layouts, specifications, lists, etc.).
• Conduct predictive analysis (water consumption, weight and balance, aircraft loading, electrical loading, etc.).
• Support Sales and Interior Design with technical topics in the early phase of a project.
• Prepare technical content for presentation for customer meetings.
• Check feasibility of customer / designer requests.
• Define long-lead items, request quotations, and place orders.
• Identify project risk items / novelties that require development at an early stage.
• Initiate development of novelty items (internally or with third parties).
• Participate in establishing budgets for new projects or change orders (quotation activity).
• Support continuous improvement and innovation.
• Develop new processes, technical instruction, etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Profound knowledge of fundamental physics, technical mechanics, aerospace technology & materials, electrical & mechanical systems and certification requirements in VIP Aviation
• More than 5 years of experience in VIP Aviation / Aerospace Engineering
• Proactive behaviour with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – additionally French and/or German is advantageous
• Ability to work independently
• Accurate and strong attention to detail and safety
• Ideally aerospace engineering background, alternatively automotive / transportation experience
