Job summary

Pilatus Aircraft in Stans, Switzerland seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical systems across aircraft platforms. You will design, develop, qualify and certify components in line with aviation standards, and support in-service operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace mechanicals, strong requirements engineering, and fluency in English; German is a plus. You will collaborate with global suppliers and participate in ground and flight tests while driving production

Qualifications

• Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in aerospace mechanical systems in development, integration or certification.
• Experience with RTCA DO-160 and DO-254 certification standards.
• Strong requirements development, traceability, verification and validation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; lead complex projects with global suppliers; fluent English; German an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of multiple mechanical systems across aircraft platforms during their lifecycle.
• Design, develop, qualify and certify mechanical components and systems per FAR/EASA-CS Part 23.
• Prepare technical reports, investigate issues, and provide support for in-service operations.
• Act as technical focal point for external suppliers, managing interfaces with vendors.
• Support ground tests, flight tests and introduction of developments into production.
• Analyze in-service issues and define corrective actions with engineering support.

• Take ownership of multiple mechanical systems across our aircraft platforms throughout their entire lifecycle
• Design, develop, qualify, and certify mechanical components and systems in compliance with FAR/EASA-CS Part 23 requirements

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace mechanical systems within a development, integration and certification environment
• Strong expertise in one or more mechanical engineering disciplines with experience in certification standards such as RTCA DO-160 and DO-254
• Solid understanding of requirements development, traceability, verification and validation processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience leading complex engineering projects and working with global suppliers; fluent English is essential, German is an advantage
• Highly organized, proactive and collaborative with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
