Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in Switzerland is seeking a proactive Intelligent Systems Risk Oversight professional to help evolve our AI risk governance framework. The role focuses on identifying, risk-assessing, approving and monitoring AI use cases throughout their lifecycle.

You will work with Risk, Technology, Data, Cybersecurity and Compliance teams to ensure responsible AI adoption and robust risk management across the organisation.

Qualifications

• A degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related technical discipline.
• Practical experience in AI development, evaluation, governance, assurance or risk oversight is highly valued.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess complex information and identify emerging risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical AI risks clearly to non-specialist audiences.
• Effective stakeholder-management and influencing skills to provide constructive challenge and recommendations.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills across Risk, Technology, Data, Cybersecurity, Compliance, Legal, Procurement and business teams.
• Proficient IT user able to adapt to new tools; skilled with Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
• Fluent in English; other languages preferred.
• Due to immigration restrictions in Switzerland we will only consider Swiss/EU citizens or those with Swiss work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent Second Line oversight, challenge and assurance over the organisation’s use of AI and intelligent systems.
• Contribute to AI, model, technology, cyber, data and operational risk governance forums with clear recommendations to senior management.
• Maintain oversight of the AI inventory, approval framework, risk assessments, lifecycle monitoring, incidents and remediation actions.
• Assess and challenge AI use cases across data quality, fairness, explainability, performance, security and third-party risk.
• Partner with Risk, Technology, Data, Cybersecurity, Compliance, Legal, Procurement and business stakeholders to promote responsible AI adoption.
• Support the development and implementation of AI-enabled risk tools, automated assessments, monitoring routines and reporting.
