Job summary

Visium seeks an AI Platform Architect to own the AI/ML layer of Databricks platforms for Azure deployments. You will design feature pipelines, model lifecycles, and scalable serving while collaborating with AI Solutions Architects and engineers to deliver production-grade solutions.

You will shape platform architecture, drive governance, and lead client-facing discussions with CTOs. Strong Databricks, MLflow, and Azure ML experience is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in MLOps or ML platform engineering with hands-on production ML systems.
• Proven experience designing and standing up an ML/AI platform yourself.
• Experience taking models to production with deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Deep Databricks expertise: MLflow, Unity Catalog, Model Serving; Azure Databricks preferred.
• CI/CD pipelines for models and data; infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Knowledge of containers and model-serving patterns; Kubernetes/AKS advantageous.
• GenAI knowledge: Azure OpenAI/Azure AI Foundry, vector search, guardrails.
• Strong client-facing communication and consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, stand up, and operate ML platforms on Azure Databricks including feature pipelines and MLflow.
• Define model lifecycle standards: versioning, evaluation gates, promotion, deployment, retraining.
• Build production deployment patterns with API serving, automated MLflow workflows, and CI/CD.
• Own production monitoring for ML systems: data drift, model quality, latency, cost, alerts.
• Design scalable Databricks workloads and translate findings into clear designs and proposals.
• Lead decisions on ML tooling and platform evolution; Databricks and Azure ML integration.
• Create reusable templates and accelerators for production-ready solutions.
• Establish ML governance: lineage, audit trails, documentation, access controls.
• Support GenAI delivery with RAG, Azure OpenAI, vector search, guardrails.
• Align ML platforms with client standards and data platforms; ensure reliability and observability.
• Lead client engagements as a senior architect and contribute to proposals and RFPs.
• Mentor engineers and accelerate adoption across teams; engage in multi-client consulting.
