Job summary

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd in Manno, Switzerland, seeks an Airborne Software Lead to establish and grow the software team. You will act as the primary software focal point for Manno, coordinating with the Stans HQ, and drive software development, verification, and certification activities across the lifecycle.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and proven leadership in regulated aerospace software, with strong C programming, SCADE, and DO-178C experience; English fluency is essential,

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s level or higher) with experience in regulated environments.
• Proven leadership of multicultural, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong C programming, software architecture, testing and model-based development (SCADE).
• Experience applying DO-178C and related standards (DO-330/DO-331) in aerospace.
• Knowledge of Git, Jira and DOORS; English fluency required; Italian desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establish and grow the Airborne Software team at Manno office.
• Act as primary software focal point in Manno and align with HQ in Stans.
• Plan, coordinate and lead software development and verification lifecycle tasks.
• Ensure compliance with aviation certification standards, processes and budgets.
• Drive collaboration with Systems Engineering, PM, partners and suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with certification authorities and cross-functional teams.
