The Activity Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students, staff, and equipment to and from extracurricular, athletic, and school-related events. The driver ensures the safety and well-being of all passengers while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation laws and school division policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus in a safe and lawful manner for field trips, athletic events, and other school-sponsored activities.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure proper mechanical operation and safety equipment.
• Follow designated routes and schedules as assigned by the Transportation Department or school officials.
• Maintain order and ensure appropriate student behavior on the bus, following school policies and discipline procedures.
• Ensure that all passengers are seated and comply with safety regulations at all times.
• Communicate effectively with coaches, sponsors, and school staff regarding travel times, routes, and schedules.
• Keep accurate trip records, mileage logs, and fuel reports as required.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents promptly to the Transportation Director.
• Ensure the bus is clean and fueled before and after each trip.
• Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and required certifications as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or school administration.
