Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Shop Manager or Shop Foreman at designated repair shops, the Rebuild Specialist will tear down and rebuild component truck parts according to current industry standards for Ford, GM, International, and Toyota vehicles.

Primary Responsibilities:
Previous experience and successful completion of repair courses are required to meet U-Haul standards. Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate a motor vehicle
- Understand the functions of transmissions, axles, water pumps, steering pumps, alternators, starters, surge brake units, etc.
- Specialize in rebuilding truck component parts per U-Haul standards
- Determine causes of failure and perform repairs or replacements as needed
- Identify failed and reusable parts to minimize repair costs
Tools, Skills, and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and newsletters
- Explain technical information and instruct less experienced personnel
- Use basic hand tools, power tools, micrometers, presses, pullers, cleaning machines, etc.
- Maintain close mental and visual attention during work, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual focus
Physical Demands:
Long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, and lifting minimum 50 lbs with or without assistance.
Work Environment:
Moderate risks requiring safety precautions, such as working around moving parts or chemicals. Use of protective gear may be necessary.

- Participation in “JET” training program encouraged
- Valid driver’s license required; good driving record essential
- Adherence to safety and housekeeping standards is mandatory
- Reporting of accidents and injuries required
- Maintain quality control and just-in-time production methods
