Domination and Defiance: Modern Global History

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

1. PhD in History. If there are no qualified applicants, we may consider senior doctoral candidates in History or related disciplines.

2. Academic experience in and knowledge of 20th-Century Global History.

3. Demonstrated scholarly engagement with the historical profession.

4. Experience in teaching undergraduate History survey courses.

5. Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate university level (including course/performance evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of a teaching dossier).

6. The position involves working with multiple teaching assistants (including Master's-level students) and possibly a course coordinator in a large first-year course.
