Job Summary

A Systems Administrator with our IT Infrastructure team in Toronto is responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week expected in-person at 200 Bay Street in Toronto.

• Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, and related virtualization technologies
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply updates/patches.
• Provide support to the development team for any server-related problems
• Assist the Senior Systems Administrator with any projects or testing
• Create documentation on any new applications or procedures related to servers
• Create documents and maintain backup jobs for local and offsite backups
• Ensure data integrity and backup solutions, including VMware vCenter
• Support and troubleshoot OS, Application issues, for Windows Server
• Provide high level troubleshooting support to the Helpdesk team
• Complete server audit checklist and restore test every 3 months
• Complete scheduled uploads as needed
• Collaborate with security and network teams to implement best practices.
• Support disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Other duties as required or assigned.

• University degree or college diploma with a strong IT affinity and/or minimum.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience as a Systems Administrator
• Strong knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, Active Directory, Windows Server, IIS; SQL Server
• Familiarity with networking concepts (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs) and storage solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and accuracy
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience working on more than one project at a time
• Comfortable presenting to and communicating with all levels of business

Salary Range - $75,000 to $85,000 annually
