Senior Electrical Engineer (P.Eng)
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of construction mining related projects – design, technical reviews, construction supports, scope and proposal documentation,
- Collaborate and manage engineering firms to complete detailed engineering for projects;
- Participate in constructability and design reviews including drawings, P&IDs, project instructions and specifications;
- Provide technical resource to site electrical infrastructure
- Provide input and support to the construction team during execution;
- Lead site-based capital projects throughout the project development process;
- In collaboration with the project sponsors, develop business cases, conceptual ideas, project scopes, technical feasibility reviews;
- Develop project estimates, prepare and submit Application for Expenditures requests;
- Collaborate with the procurement group to execute scopes of work, tenders, technical bid evaluations and assist with general contracts management;
- Lead the development of project schedules in alignment with the business requirements;
- In collaboration with the Projects Cost Controller, manage project costs, review actuals to date provide forecasts, cost deviation and recommend remedial actions to stay on budget;
What You Need To Succeed:
· P. Eng Designation;
- Post-secondary education in Engineering – Electrical;
· 10+ years of experience in mine electrical projects including infrastructure, power transmission, substations, medium to high voltage equipment, large battery storage, etc;
· PMP designation is considered an asset;
· A good knowledge of Ontario energy and power systems is considered an asset;
· Knowledge of the mining and construction regulations;
· Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
