Job Summary:
Reporting to the Clinical & Systems Transformation Team Manager, Laboratory Design Team, the Clinical Team Associate is responsible to ensure Clinical Process is the foundation for all design of the Clinical & Systems Transformation project (CST) across Providence Health Care (PHC), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in collaboration with the Service Provider with the goal of improving clinical workflows and care for patients.
Duties/Accountabilities:
1. Participates in design/testing sessions and assists the Team Manager in meeting preparations, sessions activities and idea promotion during sessions, post session follow up, outcome completion, decision, action and outcome documentation.
2. Brings best practice to the team through reviewing and summarizing interdisciplinary research and local/ national standards of practice, reviewing best practices presented in sessions, ensuring work is within clinical standards of care.
3. Engages and obtains input from colleagues across the health organizations and summarizes feedback for the working groups' consideration.
4. Accountable for working collaboratively with all members of the team to ensure that project deliverables are met within the target timelines.
5. Works to support optimal standardization of care practice and associated workflow processes across the care settings while also supporting flexibility for unique requirements.
6. Participates in design/testing sessions with other teams to optimize the system for an integrated design that supports best care for patients.
7. Reviews draft workflows, operating procedures and screens to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigation of risk.
8. Gathers policies and procedures pertinent to design sessions and works with the Team Lead or Manager and/or Policy and Procedure Leads to ensure all appropriate policies are current and reflect the new design.
9. Contributes to requests for information and data that arise from members of the team and the team lead as appropriate.
10. Reviews demos or draft builds to ensure accuracy, contributes to addressing parking lot issues, assists in documenting design decisions and other related outcomes to the team, and completes assigned work or action steps.
11. Acts as a champion on and for the project.
12. Contributes information to status updates, project deliverables, and outcomes.
13. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately reports unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and basic core laboratory training. Two (2) to four (4) years' recent, related experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. CST experience required.
