Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant provides technical support to various engagements, including compilation financial statements, corporate income tax preparation, investment bookkeeping, and T3s, T4s, and T5s. The role also involves assisting with bookkeeping, payroll, managing banking and finance relationships, management reporting, government filings, and general business advice.

• Preparation of compilation financial statements and corporate tax returns
• Full cycle bookkeeping, including adjusting journal entries, bank reconciliations, depreciation calculations, income tax accruals, and inter-company account reconciliations
• Investment bookkeeping with moderate complexity (handling portfolios, dividends, capital gains, T3 and T5 work)
• Knowledge of payroll processing using internet-based providers (Payweb, Ceridian, ADP)
• Preparation of tax returns (T1, T2, T3) and regulatory forms (T4, T5, HST, EHT, WSIB)
• Drafting correspondence related to client engagements
• Coordinating with clients to gather information and answer questions

• Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
• Proficiency in Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep
• Investment bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Word, Excel, and overall computer literacy
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Strong commitment to quality
• Understanding of business professionalism
