    Senior Marketing Operations Manager
Toronto / Marketing / Full Time / Remote Apply for this job A named leader by Forrester in the sales performance management space, Varicent was founded in 2005 when we pioneered sales performance management software. Evolving quickly to become the fastest growing software company in North America according to Deloitte’s Fast 50 in 2010, Varicent was acquired by IBM in 2012 and has since been re-founded as an independent global business serving mid-size and enterprise clients with our full suite of solutions to assist in smarter territory and quota planning, efficient lead to revenue operations, and the fastest and most flexible way to pay sellers accurately and on-time. We are looking for talented, driven people that can make an impact across our organization. Reporting to CMO, you will serve as a trusted advisor and bridge the gap between strategy and execution, forming the “connective tissue” between the office of the CMO and cross-departmental go-to-market teams. You will play a pivotal role in the strategic planning, execution, and performance management of our marketing programs and initiatives. Your strong business acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to think critically will be instrumental in optimizing our marketing operations and driving growth. The successful candidate will juggle a diverse range of responsibilities that span operations, communications, performance management and analysis.

    • Manage the Marketing Performance Management System
    • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and marketing metrics to track performance, ROI, and overall marketing effectiveness.
    • Conduct in-depth analysis and provide actionable insights to drive data-driven decision-making
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting marketing performance and opportunities for improvement.
    • CMO Proxy
    • Act as the proxy to the CMO when and where needed. Serve as a liaison between the marketing department and other departments, as well as external stakeholders.
    • Represent the CMO to facilitate more efficient operations in key meetings and projects.
    • Operations
    • Plan and facilitate Marketing leadership meetings, set agendas, and ensure follow-ups on action items.
    • Oversee specific projects or initiatives within the marketing department, collaborating across departments to ensure successful execution and alignment with the company's broader goals.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration.
    • Act as a liaison between marketing and other departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
    • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional meetings, ensuring alignment and driving initiatives forward.
    • Support the CMO in managing relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors.
    Success Criteria:
    • 1-3 Months :
    • Implement and run Marketing Performance Management system.
    • Run QBR, Monthly and weekly cadence meetings
    • Be able to create Salesforce reports and dashboards
    • Understand our market and products at a conversational level
    • 4-6 Months:
    • Identify areas of concern and advise Marketing Teams
    • Liaise with Finance, Sales, and Development on behalf of Marketing
    • Drive Agendas and Priorities for Cadence and Planning Meetings
    • 7 Months & Beyond:

    • Represent the voice of the CMO in operational meetings
    What you will bring:
    • At least 5 years of experience in a Marketing, Program Management or Operations role, or in a similar operations or strategy position. At least 7 years experience at start-ups and/or growth stage companies is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Experience with CRM, Planning and BI tools is preferred.
    • Ability to coordinate people and activities across multiple functional areas with demonstrated strong capabilities in communicating and interfacing between Sales, Marketing and Product Groups
    • Ability to lead efficient, productive meetings, and create and deliver compelling presentations.
    • The ideal candidate combines practical urgency with intuitive judgment. They are known for their reliability, prudence, and focus, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and complex situations are navigated effectively.
