JOB SUMMARY:

Max Insurance is looking for a National Claims Appraiser to join our team.

In this role, you will inspect property losses of varying complexity and produce detailed restoration estimates.

You will also audit estimates from vendors and contractors, manage disputes, and collaborate with restoration vendors to ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.

Strong empathy and analytical skills are crucial for providing exceptional customer service skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine and complete the scope of losses including large loss. Prepare detailed repair estimates of damaged dwellings.
  • Provide technical support to internal claims adjusters and outcomes of estimates.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
  • Work with internal loss adjusters for indefinite periods to support customer claims are met when required.
  • Share knowledge and offer technical training to improve control methods and processes.
  • Audits of estimates completed by vendor network and third-party contractors.
  • Inspecting losses, from small to complex and produce detailed estimates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an insurance appraiser, estimator, or in a related role, including preparing scopes of loss, bid packages, and estimates.
  • 3-5 years in project management or construction estimating, ideally in insurance restoration or a related construction field.
  • Experience as a trainer or technical expert in estimating platforms is a plus.
  • High level knowledge of Xactimate estimating software.
  • Technical and practical knowledge of restoration with building damages.
  • Construction and project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an inclination to find solutions.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Some travel required on short notice.
